This spectacular high mountain trek passes through a wide range of flora, fauna and the second highest
peak in Bhutan, Mount Jomolhari (about 7314m). The route begins northward of Paro valley and to the
basecamp at Jangothang (about 4090m), located below the base of Mount Jomolhari. The journey also
passes through Tsho Phu lake and Bontela pass (about 4980m) and may witness seasonal yak herders
and blue sheep in the high ranges. This is an enduring trek and highly recommended for strenuous
trekkers and require good amount of acclimatization. The route along pass along Lingshi valley and then
through several lakes en-route before finally descending to Thimphu.
The best time of the year for the trek is from April till June and from September till early November.
